HÜSEYIN TABAK

Hüseyin Tabak is a German Kurd, he was born in 1981 in Lemgo, Germany, as the son of two migrant workers from Turkey and grew up in Bad Salzuflen. In Hamburg he worked on more than 20 feature films from 2003 to 2006. He started out as a set intern in 2003 and later worked as everything from driver to assistant director. Parallel to this he completed more than twelve short films of his own.

From 2006 to 2012 Hüseyin Tabak studied directing and screenwriting with Michael Haneke
and Peter Patzak at the Vienna Film Academy. His first short film CHEEESE... at the Vienna
Film Academy was extremely successful on the international festival circuit, receiving more
than 65 invitations and winning over 15 prizes. YOUR BEAUTY IS WORTH NOTHING ...
is his first feature film and at the same time his final project. In 2011 Hüseyin Tabak was
awarded the Vienna Film Academy Prize “FOR EXEMPLARY WORK AND ARTISTIC
VALUES”.
